KICKING DISTRESS AWAY

“But the spirit of God departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him” 1 Samuel 16:14

Are you torn apart, harassed, and exhausted with life. Do you know anybody in this state? These are the signs of distress. Disobedience brings about distress. Broken fellowship with God is the biggest source of disobedience. Satan is always striving to lure us into disobedience to God.

When you disobey God, satan will use the opportunity to have his way in our lives just as he did in the life of Saul. As soon as he succeeds in deceiving anymore, the attendant oppressive spirit gains entrance. Distress in whatever appearance will affect your walk with the Holy Spirit and your productivity in life.

Complete and genuine repentance to God reconciles you to God. Allow the fleshly tendencies in you to die in order to experience the Spirit of God which would keep you from all distress

FAITH YOUR BELIEVE

Faith is the demonstration of your believe. If you believe God is going to heal you, demonstrate it. It is not enough saying God is going to heal me. Everyone believes that. You got to put it to work. Faith and believe put together is the bomb.

The woman with an issue of blood said if I could only touch the hem of his garment, I would be made whole. That was believe but she went further in expression to touch Jesus Christ, that is faith. These put together brought about the difference. The moment she touched Jesus, the fountain of her blood stopped forthwith.

Give your believe an expression to get an expected result. Make up your mind to will your action. Sometime a man of God moved towards three people on a wheel chair. He stretched forth his arm saying,” In the name of Jesus rise up and work”. The first and the second stood up but the third man said, “Don’t you see that I have been on this wheel chair for long?” He did not walk. What was the difference? They all heard the voice of the man of God yet one of them could not walk. The third man could not express his believe. It is enough to say I believe I can be healed. Faith it! You got to make some move!

FORGIVENESS

“When ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any; that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you you trespasses”. Mark 11: 25 KJV

In the Count of Monte Cristo, Edmond Dantes is betrayed by a dear friend. Dantes is then imprisoned and begins to contemplate his revenge, a revenge that fills the rest of the story. When the time comes to payback, it brings him a momentary sense of of pleasure.
Perhaps this hope for satisfaction drives those who refuse to forgive others. Giving up our anger and letting go the pain to forgive can appear as weakness, giving in, or just giving up. Many would prefer to give offender what they think the person deserves rather than show mercy.
In the scope of God’s kingdom, however, the forgiving heart is the heart that is close to God. He has brought people forgiveness through sacrifice of his Son. Forgiveness is essential for right relationship. If we want to stay connected to God, we must choose to forgive.

RESPONSIVE TO OTHERS’ NEEDS

“But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,’’ he said, “Since you are under the same sentence? ’’ Luke 23:40

Although Christ was reviled while hanging on the cross, one of the criminals crucified alongside Him responded to His sacrificial act. Thus, our text. This thief rebuked the sarcasm of the unbelieving thief. He declared that although they were guilty of the crimes of which they had been charged, Jesus was innocent.
At a time of great suffering, this thief showed great faith. Knowing that he faced his last hours on earth, he humbly asked to be remembered by Jesus Christ, recognizing that He is the King. He looked to Jesus and asked, “Lord remember me when you come into your kingdom”.

Jesus responded in love to the last minutes appeal on the part of the criminal and promised that before the day was over they would be together in the presence of the Father. Such is the sacrificial character, responsive to people’s need. As believers, let us clothe ourselves with the cloak of being responsive to others’ need.

LOVING

"Now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these
is love" 1 Corinthians 14:35 (NIV)

It is nearly impossible to watch a television programme or listen to a pop radio station without coming across the subect of love. Our culture today almost treats love as a romantic feeling or a conditional response to the actions of another person.

The Bible defines it so much more than this. Rather than loking at love as a feeling or a conditional response, the Bible defines it through the sacrificial example of the life and death of Jesus christ. Jesus taught us the meaning of love through His words and compassonate acts. From His life we see that love is tough, able to forgive one's enemies and seek the good of others when things are not good for oneeself.

Christains must never adopt the world's understanding of love as a model for how they responde to God and their fellow man. Instead, we need to reflect on the many examples of the loving expressions of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Gospels. Then we need to allow this love evident in us.

WISDOM PROFITS

"And David behaved wisely in all his ways and the Lord was with him" 1
Samuel 18:14(NKVJ).

Victorious life attracts evy and persecution. "envy is the feeling of displeasure produced by witnessing or hearing of the advantage or prosperity of others"(Vines expository dictionary).

We must be careful not to allow our flesh rise up in envy when we see others experience victories. David sat under his father's instruction and understood authority. He honoured and respected the authority of king Saul, but Saul became envious of his success.

Envy is a tool of the enemy. As children of God, we are instructed to put on the whole armour of God(Eph.6:11) to enable us stand agaist the wiles of the enemy. If you plan to succed , you must be ready to be envied.

Like David, we must behave wisely before those whom we stand, because we may never know whom the Lord may use to bless us.

PRAYER: Pray for the spirit of wisdom upon yourself to be able to behave well before God and man.

यू हवे एक्सेस तो थे TRUTH

Oxford University, Don William Tyndale translated the first New Testament published in English (1526). He was a man of great passion. Tyndale was later persecuted and murdered for making God's word accessible to all.

Without the translation of the New Testament and subsequently the complete Bible. You would have been in the dark or even have a distorted idea about salvation and eternal life through Jesus christ, because it is written in another language, most parts of the world could not understand. Hence, were denied access to God's word.

Thank God for Tyndale who started it and many other translators of the Bible over the years who have translated it even into many of our local dialects, giving us access to Jesus Christ, the only source of our salvation. This is the , Acts 4:12 says: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved".

We no longer have any excuse to be ignorant of God's word. Choose it, know it, leave by it. There are now computer Bibles, CD'S, MP3, Tapes etc. People even have their Bibles in their phones nowadays. What a way to be alive.
